Ukrainian polar explorers at the Akademik Vernadsky station will be able to independently brew beer. This is reported by the National Antarctic Science Center.
In December of this year, one of the Ukrainian retail chains will donate brewing equipment and all the necessary ingredients for making a drink to the expedition and will ship it for shipment to Antarctica.
Evgeny Dikiy, director of the National Science Center, says that there is an absolute shortage of beer in Antarctica: once a season, they bring in something packaged in cans. Therefore, life at the Akademik Vernadsky station will become a little more comfortable and soulful."
“For us, this is an invaluable opportunity to teach Ukrainian polar explorers, professionals in their field, all the intricacies of brewing, so that they can make real craft beer away from home. After all, we understand how important it is for our compatriots, true beer connoisseurs, to enjoy cold winter evenings not only at home, but also during the expedition, ”commented Viktor Vashchuk, head brewery at Beermaster Brewery.
