Recently, Spain hosted the annual World Cheese Awards. 4079 types of cheese competed for the victory this year. The best cheese of the year was chosen by 250 judges from different countries, including Ukraine.

Ukrainian cheesemakers also took part in the competition. However, the best cheese in 2021 was recognized as the product of the Spanish cheese dairy Quesos & Besos - goat soft cheese Olavidia, writes AgroTimes. The list of the best this year also includes: Fromagerie Berthaut (France), Van der Heiden Kass (Netherlands), Zijerveld Food (Netherlands), Csíz Sajtmühely Kft (Hungary), Quesos y Besos (Spain), Trethowan's Dairy), Caseificio Brusati - Caseificio Artigianale (Italy), MAAZ Cheese (Netherlands), Dorfsennerei Schlins (Austria), Nazionale Parmigiano Reggiano Rosola Di Zocca Societa Agricola Cooperativa (Italy), Almnäs Bruk AB (Sweden) Campina (Netherlands), Trewantho's Dairy Ltd (UK) and Atelier de Formage (Japan).

Oksana Chernova took part in the definition of delicious cheeses. She became the first Ukrainian judge at the world competition. Oksana was the captain of one of the teams of judges, and also entered the Super Gold Jury - a group of judges who chose the finalist of the World Cheese Awards.

The national selection of the ProCheese Awards was won by cheese from the producer Dooobra Farm. It was this company that represented Ukraine at an international competition in Spain.
