Since the beginning of the year, there has been a tendency towards a decrease in the amount of milk produced in Ukraine. The received hopes for 10 months of 2021 are 6% less than the same indicator last year. The Association of Milk Producers informs about it.

According to statistics, the decline in production occurred as a result of a significant drop in production in households. The ratio of industrial production and milk from the population is, respectively, 30.6% to 69.4%. At the same time, production indicators in households for the year decreased by 7.2%, while at enterprises, on the contrary, increased by 0.6%.

“Most likely, the annual decline in volumes will remain in the range of 5-6%. The industrial sector will show the stability of production with a symbolic reduction within a percentage. But households will end the year with a significant minus in the range of 8-8.5% ”, - the analyst of the Association of Milk Producers Yana Linetskaya commented on the situation.

In her opinion, the situation in the field of animal husbandry next year will depend, more than ever, on government decisions.

“The industry has come to a critical point where there is no further movement without the adoption of influential supportive actions. First of all, it is necessary to resolve the issues of tax burden, both on producers and consumers, and to increase subsidies to the cattle breeding and milk processing industry, ”the expert noted.
