A berry cooperative for farmers from all regions will be launched in Ukraine
In the spring of 2022, LNZ Group plans to open a berry cooperative for agricultural producers throughout Ukraine. The company announced this in an exclusive commentary to Kurkul.com.
As noted, from the very beginning, berry farming began as a separate direction in the company. Later they came to the conclusion that, having a closed business system, more can be achieved. After all, the berry industry can be a profitable business if you focus not only on growing, but also on processing.
“We started working towards diversification - we built a plant equipped with high-tech equipment, passed certification, so we have all the relevant certificates to enter the world market - BRC Global Standard for Food Safety and GLOBAL G.A.P. Actually, the plant is already working on the European market,” said Viktor Kravchenko, head of Tevitta.
According to Viktor Kravchenko, the idea of production diversification can become a driving force for farmers who already grow products or for those who would like to try growing, but in the absence of guaranteed sales markets, they are afraid to try themselves in this new niche. This is how the idea to create the Tevitta cooperative was born.
As part of the cooperative, the company offers all agricultural producers:
- InVitro seedlings of raspberries, strawberries and blackberries;
- agrotechnological support;
- plant protection products and fertilizers
In addition, the participants of the cooperative will be guaranteed the sale of products to the plant. Also, if desired, legal entities can conclude a contract with the plant for processing their products and storing them to the best price.
”For example, a farmer sees that it makes no sense to sell a berry at a low price during the season. He enters into an agreement with the plant to freeze and store products or just to freeze, because he plans to sell on his own, ” the company explained.
In addition to freezing and storage, the plant provides other services for the production of frozen products:
- laboratory analysis of raw materials;
- cleaning of fresh raw materials according to standards;
- cutting if necessary;
- freezing of the prepared product;
- cleaning of raw materials using an optical sorter Sortex;
- packaging in different types of containers;
- storage of products in warehouses at a temperature of -20°C.
The company also provides private label production services.
