In Bukovina, a farmer grows the most expensive mushrooms in the world

Business

Mikhail Kozma grows truffles. Mushrooms from a farmer cost 30 thousand per kilogram. The harvesting season lasts from July to November. The valuable mushroom grows in hornbeam, beech, oak and walnut forests mainly in France and Italy. This is reported by Wikna.

However, according to the farmer, truffles can also be grown in Ukraine. Mikhail dreamed of collecting his own harvest of expensive mushrooms for more than ten years. But the first successful attempt was only last year. To grow a truffle in the Ukrainian forest, you must first propagate the mycelium.

White truffles are considered more valuable. Their cost in the EU is 400 euros per 100 grams. Up to 15 kg of truffles are harvested from one hectare of mushroom plantation. For their cultivation, artificial irrigation can be used, because mushrooms need a lot of moisture.
