Ukrainian mutton and halal beef are now sold in the UAE
In 2021, for the first time in many years, the export of Ukrainian mutton to the UAE was resumed, which became an outstanding event for the development of the halal industry. This became possible after the Halal certification of Terra Rich products.
Director of the Halal Global Ukraine Certification Center Victoria Nesterenko writes about this in her column on AgroTimes.
“By the way, in the domestic market, the company sells all its products certified as halal, satisfying the relevant consumer demand,” she added.
And last year, halal turkey TM "Syayvir" appeared on the shelves of Jordanian stores for the first time.
The production and export volumes of chilled and frozen halal beef in 2021 did not have a clear dynamics, how to compare with the figures for 2020.
“Those manufacturers that, due to the pandemic, stopped producing halal products in 2019, unfortunately, have not recovered,” Victoria Nesterenko noted.
The export of Ukrainian halal beef to Kazakhstan has stopped. Instead, it was possible to increase supplies to Uzbekistan. Halal beef was steadily exported to China, as well as finished products to Jordan.
“In addition, in the fourth quarter of 2021, the registration of the Zhytomyr Meat Processing Plant in the UAE, certified according to the standard of the Persian Gulf countries - GSO 993:2015, was agreed upon,” said Victoria Nesterenko. “This is how Ukrainian halal beef appeared in this country.”
