Last year, Ukraine exported the most raspberries in history

Last year, Ukrainian raspberry producers exported the most berries ever due to record prices and poor harvests in the Northern Hemisphere. According to uaberries.com.
According to Irina Kukhtina, the president of the Ukrainian Berry Association, frozen raspberries are sold in the world more than fresh ones, and this is understandable due to the peculiarities of the culture: its taste and poor keeping quality.
"However, the share of the fresh market is growing faster than the share of the frozen berries market," added Irina Kukhtina.
Raspberries for Ukraine are a pronounced export product, up to half of the grown ones are sold abroad.
“Of course, we are talking about a frozen berry. Now our advantage is a competitive price, but, unfortunately, it is dumping: while the average in the world in 2020 was $2.1/kg, Ukraine sold raspberries at $1.59/kg,” said the president of the association.
According to her, there is still interest in Ukrainian frozen raspberries from Poland and Serbia, who are ready to buy a lot of it. The price last year was extremely attractive, Ukraine sold more raspberries than ever before.
“As for the price, it soared 2-3 times last year due to crop failure in the Western hemisphere of the world, which had a positive effect on prices in Ukraine,” summed up Irina Kukhtina.
